Monthly Benchmarks on the Reception of Orders

In June 2022, the value of orders in financial instruments received by financial intermediaries and registered at the CMVM amounted to €45,197.7 million, an 11% decrease apropos May. Since the beginning of the year, this benchmark increased by 241.9% over the same period of last year.
The monthly value rose in financial instruments decreased 25.7% down to €9,931.7 million for public debt and increased 90.6%, up to €2,097.3 million for private debt. Shares fell 18.5% down to €2,183.3 million.
BCP had the largest market share transactions (23.6%), followed by CaixaBank – Sucursal em Portugal (13.4%) and Banco BPI (12.7%). In public and private debt, the largest stake was held by BNP Paribas, S.A. – Sucursal em Portugal (68.1%), Banco L.J. Carregosa, followed by (23.7%) and Caixa Económica Montepio Geral (1.4%).
The value of orders on derivative financial instruments decreased by 8.6% over the previous month down to €287,137.6 million. CFDs were the most traded financial instrument in the derivatives market (3.7% of the total amount), with transactions increasing by 17.4% apropos May. Futures transactions were up by 146.1%.
During the same period, the value of orders of residents registered a monthly downturn of 27.1% and non-residents decreased 8.5%.
Regarding market execution, 53.4% of the orders were executed in international regulated markets, 3.4% in national markets, 1.1% out of the market and 42.1% were internalised.
The USA, France and Germany were the top three destinations for orders placed on shares outside Portugal, while, The Netherlands, France and the UK were the main destinations for orders on debt securities.
