  • Corporate Governance Committee

The CMVM represents Portugal at the OECD Corporate Governance Committee since 2001, and 2008, at the relevant Executive Committee. In the latter position, the national representation was enhanced in 2014 with the launching of the draft text of the OECD Principles of Corporate Governance OCD issued in 1999 and revised in 2004. In 2014, under the mandate of the Ministerial Council of the OECD and its Secretary-General, the CGC reviewed said Principles.

  • G20/OECD Task Force on Institutional Investors and Long-term Financing

The CMVM joined this working group as a national representative since November 2013 in coordination with Banco de Portugal (Portuguese Central Bank) and the Instituto de Seguros de Portugal ( Portuguese Insurance Institute).

The main objective of the group is to develop the principles of the G20 / OECD 'High-Level Principles on Long-Term Financing Investment by Institutional Investors', endorsed by the G20 summit in St. Petersburg in September of 2013, wherein finance ministers of G20 countries and the relevant Governors of Central Banks where requested to identify the measures taken and to be adopted to ensure the effective implementation of those principles.

  • European Corporate Governance Codes Network

This informal network consists in exchanging views and sharing best practices related to corporate governance issues of listed companies. This network, wherein the CMVM is part of, shares factual information on the content and implementation of corporate governance codes with European authorities and other interested parties.
